A brand-new cover MV by Soyogi Soyogi is now available on our official YouTube channel.

This video was released ahead of Soyogi EXPO, scheduled to take place on March 8, 2026.

Originally released by Yumi Arai in 1974, the song later became widely known as the ending theme of Kiki's Delivery Service and remains a beloved classic across generations.

This cover project was made possible through a connection formed during a radio program appearance. Comments have also been provided by Yuki Kaji and music producer Masataka Matsutoya.

We have created a work filled with a gentleness and serenity unlike anything we have produced before. Through Soyogi Soyogi's singing voice, I believe listeners will be able to feel the kindness and warmth reflected in the song's theme.

AI is often perceived as something mechanical and emotionless. Pursuing the opposite form of expression has become one of the central challenges of this project. I hope you will embrace the vision of coexistence that we strive to achieve.

Why we chose "When Enveloped in Tenderness"

I've loved this song since childhood, but the project itself began through the opportunity to meet Masataka Matsutoya during a radio program. Although he is a legendary figure in the music industry, he continues to explore new creative possibilities and approaches emerging technologies such as AI with sincerity and curiosity. His attitude has been a tremendous source of inspiration for me.

How will AI interpret and sing such a deeply human song? As you listen, I hope you'll consider where its "heart" might reside and enjoy the song again and again.

About Yuki Kaji and the Soyogi Fractal project

I've only had the chance to speak with Kaji-san for a few hours, but my impression is that he is a very straightforward and sincere person. People like him are the ones who dive into new frontiers and create breakthroughs. I believe this project will open up a world I have never seen before.
